Mastering Change in Schema Therapy Practice: Advancing Your Skills is an immersive training designed for clinicians looking to deepen their schema therapy expertise. This advanced-level course focuses on the nuanced process of facilitating meaningful change in clients by targeting entrenched schemas and maladaptive coping modes. 

Through a blend of didactic instruction, live demonstrations, and experiential practice, participants will refine techniques such as imagery chair work, and mode dialogues an limited reparenting.  Special emphasis will be placed on challenged faced with clients presenting with Avoidant, Dependent and Obsessive-Compulsive personality traits

Attendees will also explore strategies for addressing therapist blocks and resistance, ensuring more dynamic and effective interventions. The workshop is Ideal for practitioners with foundational schema therapy training, this workshop will challenge and inspire participants to elevate their clinical practice.

Remco van der Wijngaart works as a psychotherapist and supervisor and educator for CBT and schema therapy. From 1996 onward he participated in treatment research on the effectiveness of schema therapy for borderline personality disorders. Together with David Bernstein he provided trainings on schema therapy in the forensic setting. He gives trainings, lectures and supervision on schema therapy worldwide and he has several DVD projects in the field of schema therapy. Van der Wijngaart was vice-president between 2016 and 2018 of the ISST (International Society of Schema Therapy).
